Episode 511 – Tahoe Winter Fun:
The Lake Tahoe area is a source of great winter fun, and hosts Chris Orr and Dave Santina set out to show a number of activities. First up, a snowshoe excursion at Carson Pass with Ben Spillman. Ben leads them on a journey to Winnemucca Lake, which has frozen over and makes for an otherworldly destination. The trio end the day a few miles down the road at Markleeville, with a soak in Grover Hot Springs. Next morning Chris and Dave are at Tahoe City, CA, for a lesson in cross country skiing at Tahoe XC, a nonprofit that promotes and teaches skiing. The lesson ends with a beautiful Tahoe view and a desire for more cross country in the future. Next, it’s a first-time experience with curling, at Lake Tahoe Epic Curling in Stateline. They learn the basics and play a mock game, which teaches them a new appreciation for this unusual sport. The show ends at Tahoe Meadows with one good sled run before they end the trip.
