Episode 412 – Winnemucca to Paradise Valley:
Chris and Dave enjoy an excursion to Water Canyon outside Winnemucca, where Melanie Erquiaga of Nevada Outdoor School and Katie Fithian of AmeriCorps teach the steps necessary to follow the Leave No Trace ethic while enjoying the outdoors. Next, it’s back to town and a trip through the Humboldt Museum where the prehistoric history of Winnemucca comes to life, followed by a walk through the town’s historic districts. Day two of the trip begins with a drive north to Paradise Valley to join Tony Lesperance, a passionate advocate for the outdoor life in the Santa Rosa Mountain Range. Chris and Dave take an exciting ATV excursion up to Hinkey Summit and along the Buckskin ATV Loop Trail with Tony and Cole Erquiaga, which winds up with a delicious dutch oven lunch provided by Cole’s mom, Melanie.
