Extraordinary Educator Award
This award recognizes an educator who has distinguished themselves in their community; by going above and beyond the regular duties of an educator to truly make an impact on a school, district, college, or community. Eligible nominees must be located in PBS Reno’s northern Nevada and northeastern California viewing areas.

Winner | Jennifer Combs-Rollings
Jennifer Combs-Rollings is a first-grade teacher at Jacks Valley Elementary School. She is a kind, energetic, amazing soul who deserves to be recognized. She goes above the students all the time, while doing so much for her colleagues and family as well. She set up a free event for families to get free items for whatever they may need like clothes, shoes, household items, etc. In her classroom, she would do anything for her family, find them resources, make learning fun, and get to know her families [in order] to give a personal touch and make her classroom a family.
Finalist | Paul Fleming
Paul Fleming is the music teacher at Hunter Lake Elementary School. He teaches music to kindergarteners up to 5th graders. He is devoted to instilling the importance of music to his students as well as their parents. Mr. Fleming is a constant advocate for the importance of music education as a part of the curriculum. Many of his kids continue on to middle school joining a band or choir.
Finalist | Jeromy Mumm
Jeromy Mumm is a math teacher at McQueen High School and the Varsity wrestling coach. In his free time, Jeromy is actively involved in his church and bible study community, but his true passion is volunteering to help kids succeed in academic and sport. Jeromy volunteers over 15 hours per week at the nonprofit youth wrestling gym, Nevada Elite Wrestling. Jeromy works with boys and girls ages 4-18 to develop the personal fitness and mental maturity that sports bring to kids.
