PBS Reno Selects Rick Reviglio as
2024 Extraordinary Philanthropist of the Year

Rick Reviglio: 2024 Extraordinary Philanthropist of the Year

RENO, NV (February 16, 2024)PBS Reno has proudly selected Rick Reviglio as the 2024 Extraordinary Philanthropist of the Year. This award recognizes a person, family, or organization that has touched lives in northern Nevada and northeastern California through philanthropic acts including but not limited to generous grants, community events, and opportunities to underserved populations.

PBS Reno will honor Reviglio during the Spotlight Awards & Auction on Friday, September 20, 2024, at the Grande Exposition Hall at the Silver Legacy Resort Casino. PBS Reno will also celebrate numerous individuals, teachers, local businesses, and non-profits during the event, which is the station’s biggest fundraiser of the year.

Rick Reviglio is President and General Manager of Western Nevada Supply. Born to Jack and Rosalie Reviglio, Rick was raised in northern Nevada where he grew up immersed in the family business. His upbringing shaped him into a passionate Nevadan and patriotic American, and to this day, he strongly believes that everyone has a duty to serve. It is this intense passion to serve that makes up his character and pushes him to lead others. Rick lives a life of giving inspired by his father who said, “When we meet our creator, he is not going to ask us what kind of house we lived in, what kind of car we drove or how many toys we had. He is going to ask us: What did you do to make a difference in your fellow man?

“What an honor to stand in the shadows of the greats who have made our community one of the best in America,” said Reviglio. “My grandparents migrated to this great country with just a suitcase and a dream. America provided them with an abundance of opportunity. I believe that we have a duty and an obligation to honor that dream by giving back to this great country and our northern Nevada community. My parents lived by this motto and instilled it in me: Give ‘til it hurts, then give some more. We can give our time, talent or treasure; all should be able to give one but if you are able, give all three! I thank PBS Reno so much for the incredible honor of Extraordinary Philanthropist of 2024. I am truly blessed to be part of this incredible community.”

Past recipients of the PBS Reno Extraordinary Philanthropistaward include Sandy Raffealli, the Carano family, and Brian Sandoval.

“Each year we are honored to recognize leaders in our community,” said Kurt Mische, PBS Reno President and CEO. “This is important work; to say thank you to those who lead while we have the opportunity to acknowledge them. Our honorees are part of the fabric of our community and worthy of our appreciation. We are honored to have Rick as our 2024 Extraordinary Philanthropist.”

The 2024 PBS Reno Spotlight Awards & Auction will also recognize three finalists each from the following categories: Extraordinary Student, Extraordinary Individual, Extraordinary Educator, Extraordinary Community Group, and Extraordinary Local Business. Nominations open online on March 1, 2024.

The PBS Reno Spotlight Awards & Auction has celebrated more than 60 local businesses, non-profits, educators, and individuals since 2020.
