RENO, NV (DEC 17, 2024) — PBS Reno is proud to debut a new season of Wild Nevada, the award-earning local series that takes viewers on adventures throughout the state and discovers the places, people, and history that make the state unique!

The new and seventh season of Wild Nevada takes viewers to the Capital to Tahoe Trail project; a number of locations that boast rockhounding opportunities throughout the state; the beautiful lakes of the eastern Sierra; the Ruby Mountains; Black Rock Point and Incandescent Rocks Scenic Area; plus a closer look at the impact of wildfire and its aftermath.

In November 2024, PBS Reno’s Chris Orr moved into the role of Senior Producer of Wild Nevada. Orr will oversee the preproduction, filming, and postproduction of Wild Nevada, while also serving as host. Orr has been part of Wild Nevada since it first began in 2000. Since then, the series has resulted in more than 80 episodes, a 2014 special, the spinoff series Wild Nevada Memories, the companion podcast Wild Nevadacast, and has earned numerous awards including eight international Communicator Awards and four Telly Awards.

“I am honored to be able to continue producing and hosting the Wild Nevada series,” said Orr. “I consider it an honor to get to offer new episodes and adventures to our audiences. Wild Nevada is one of the most rewarding and meaningful projects on which I’ve ever had the opportunity to work. The series has allowed me to experience parts of and places in the state of Nevada that I may never have gotten to otherwise. There are still so many more places to explore and adventures ahead.”

"We are thrilled to have Chris Orr step into this new role of not just hosting Wild Nevada but producing the series and continuing to bring our viewers new wonders,” said Megan Myers, PBS Reno Vice President of Content. “With each new season, we’re not just showcasing Nevada’s breathtaking landscapes; we’re also deepening the connection between the community and the great outdoors. We look forward to the year ahead, when PBS Reno will present yet another new season of this award-earning program to commemorate the series’ 25th anniversary.”
