PBS Reno 2024 Spotlight Awards & Auction

RENO, NV (JULY 17, 2024) — There are two weeks left to cast votes for the finalists honored by the 2024 PBS Reno Spotlight Awards & Auction, which celebrates local businesses, community groups, educators, individuals, and students who are making a positive impact in northern Nevada and northeastern California. Voting takes place online through July 31, 2024.

Extraordinary Student

  • Sophie Marks | Incoming senior at Reno High School
  • Cooper Sandoval | Incoming sophomore at McQueen High School
  • Ethan Wu | Incoming freshman at Oxford College | Emory University
     

Extraordinary Individual

  • Sylvia Gonzalez| Director of Client Services, Domestic Violence Resource Center
  • Ann Silver| CEO, Reno+Sparks Chamber of Commerce
  • Emma White | Youth Suicide Prevention Coordinator, Nevada Department of Education

“We received some inspiring nominations this year,” said Holly Hutchinson, PBS Reno Event Coordinator. “It was difficult to narrow down the list of submissions. We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to highlight this year’s finalists and showcase the incredible work they do for our community.”

Winners will be announced during the PBS Reno Spotlight Awards & Auction on Friday, September 20th at the Silver Legacy Resort Casino Grande Exposition Hall in downtown Reno. There is still time to get your seats. Tables and individual admissions are available for purchase online.

It’s so important to celebrate their efforts to ensure their work does not go unnoticed.”

PBS Reno will also celebrate Rick Reviglio, 2024 Extraordinary Philanthropist, by highlighting his work throughout the region. Reviglio currently serves as General Manager and President of Western Nevada Supply.
