Carr Promoted to PBS Reno Assistant Chief Engineer
RENO, NV (Jan 21, 2021) – PBS Reno has promoted Bryan Carr to the position of Assistant Chief Engineer. Carr will assist PBS Reno VP of Technology Eli Cavazos in the station’s technology department.
“I would like to congratulate Bryan Carr on his much-deserved promotion to Assistant Chief Engineer here at PBS Reno,” said Cavazos. “Bryan is a new generation of broadcast engineer with the skills and knowledge to help PBS Reno merge into the latest technologies.”
Carr joined PBS Reno in February 2019 as broadcast engineering technician. His many duties include assisting PBS Reno staff with technological improvements including network updates and restructuring station equipment along with transmitter work around the region.
“The PBS Reno crew is a family and it’s great to go to work in the morning and help your family every day,” said Carr. “What makes this job even better, is making our station available to homes throughout northern Nevada, where I was born and raised. It’s incredibly fulfilling to give something good to my community.”
Carr attended Truckee Meadows Community College, where he studied electronics and industrial maintenance. He worked as an Engineer at Circus Circus in Reno for several years before working in public safety communications projects at Raven Electronics.
