JOB TITLE: Senior Designer
REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing

JOB SUMMARY & EXPECTATIONS:
PBS Reno is seeking a highly skilled and creative Senior Designer to join our dynamic team. This role plays a crucial part in developing and executing innovative design solutions across both print and digital platforms, ensuring a seamless integration of design across all media. This role is also responsible for establishing and maintaining a consistent, elevated visual style across all media platforms, while also managing and updating the website through the CMS.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Design and create visuals for both web and print, ensuring consistency with PBS Reno’s branding, messaging, and visual identity.
- Ensure all designs align with PBS Reno’s mission and vision, providing a cohesive and engaging experience for the audience.
- Collaborate with teams on various creative projects, including marketing materials, advertisements, and the organization’s presence on emerging digital platforms.
- Manage and update PBS Reno’s website using CMS, ensuring it remains visually appealing, functional, and aligned with brand guidelines.
- Implement best practices in design for web, UI, and UX to create seamless user experiences across all digital platforms.
- Stay current with design trends, tools, and technologies, proactively learning new skills and incorporating innovative ideas into projects.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas to enhance design concepts and solutions for team projects.
- Create a consistent and timely stream of promotional content for audience interaction using both provided and original media.
- Test websites across different browsers, operating systems, and devices to ensure functionality and efficiency.
- Monitor website traffic, conversions, and overall site performance to optimize user experience.
- Maintain high-quality standards by paying attention to detail and ensuring all work meets print and web requirements, including accessibility standards.
- Manage multiple projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery within scope and maintaining the highest quality standards.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (an equivalent amount of training, education and experience will be considered):
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in graphic design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in both print and digital design.
- Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Zoom.
- Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout across print and digital media.
- Solid experience in web design, including UI/UX design, with proficiency in responsive design and best practices for accessibility.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
- Proven ability to independently manage projects from concept to completion, ensuring high-quality standards and timely delivery.
- Strong ability to take feedback and iterate designs effectively to meet project goals.
- A passion for creativity, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment and maintaining the highest quality standards.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS and basic front-end web development
- Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress)
- Familiarity with design tools like Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar is preferred, but not required.
- Experience with project management tools such as Monday.com or other collaborative platforms.
- Familiarity with web-based tools such as SurveyMonkey is a plus.
