JOB TITLE: Director of Marketing
REPORTS TO: Vice President of Content
DEPARTMENT: Marketing

JOB SUMMARY & EXPECTATIONS:
The Director of Marketing at PBS Reno is responsible for setting marketing strategy, goals, objectives and budgets for PBS Reno’s overall brand and various media platforms. This position is responsible for managing a team of graphic, digital and web designers. This role also works with content creators and across departments. Responsibilities include overseeing the online pages and sites, managing and formulating graphic concepts and assisting in brainstorming ideas and the creation of brand graphics by other staff members and direct team reports. The Marketing Director will monitor and analyze market trends and the station’s promotional activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Prioritize, manage and review marketing projects, allocate budget and resources accordingly.
- Manage and review campaigns and ensure all are aligned to standards.
- Manage station marketing calendar and works with the Events Coordinator to ensure all events have the necessary resources.
- Measure the ROI of station advertising and promotional investments and make changes and improvements when necessary. Present ROI on campaigns regularly.
- Review national branding and local branding to ensure quality and consistency.
- Ensure brand message strength, consistency, and timeliness across all platforms.
- Provides strategic direction for all marketing campaigns across all media platforms.
- Ensure messaging is delivered in alignment and collaboration with all goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (an equivalent amount of training, education and experience will be considered):
- A BS/BA degree and a minimum of 5 years’ experience is required.
- Qualified candidates will have demonstrable experience in managing successful multi-skilled teams and successful marketing campaigns.
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Excellent written communication skills: ability to write clear, structured, articulate messaging and marketing language. Excellent proofreading and editing skills.
- Strong analytical and project management skills
- Strategic mindset with the ability to make difficult decisions
- Proficiency in writing and understanding of webpages and coding is required
- Comprehensive computer skills, including all Microsoft Office products, and knowledge of office equipment.
- Must be detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to implement systems and follow-up processes.
- Able to work effectively with other project team members to meet deadlines as well as manage, oversee, and effectively delegate work to team members.
- Ability to grasp the broad overview of PBS Reno, its services, and programs in order to best utilize available technical resources.
- Self-directed with the ability to work with minimal supervision and proactively meet deadlines.
